Promoting Inclusivity: Sports Forum Encourages Participation for People with Disabilities

The Sports Forum is organized at the Maryvonne-Caillère complex in Fougères, Wednesday June 19, 2024. It aims to promote the practice of sport among people with disabilities. The objective is to provide information on the importance of allowing people with disabilities to engage in various sporting activities adapted to their needs and abilities,” announces Didier Renault, sports referent for the department.

Ten workshops to try

Five Fougerais sports clubs are associated with this forum: the Pays de Fougères fencing circle, the Fougères orienteering club, the Fougerais Badminton club, AGL Handball and Vigilante gymnastics. These associations offer adapted sporting activities with ten different workshops: badminton, boccia, cornhole, fencing, gym, handball and blowgun. Rotations of 20 minutes will allow participants to wander from stand to stand. Trainees will be present for supervision like those from Stereddenn for the orienteering race. Other clubs can also join this system.

It is an innovative event, during this period of the Paralympic Games, a major national cause which concerns all types of physical or mental disabilities, underlines Christophe Hardy, sports assistant.

It is preferable to register but those interested can come directly the same day.

Wednesday June 19, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Maryvonne-Caillère sports complex, 4, boulevard des Déporté, Fougères. Registration: [email protected], tel. 06 77 07 60 82.
