Novak Djokovic, on his possible participation in Wimbledon: “I didn’t come to play just a few rounds”

After his right knee injury on June 4, during the round of 16 at Roland-Garros following a slip, and his withdrawal, world number two Novak Djokovic is doing everything to return to the best of his form to compete at Wimbledon, which begins July 1.

Interviewed by the BBC on Monday, he said: “I didn’t come to just play a few rounds. I will play if I am able. But I can’t know in advance if I will be at one hundred percent of my abilities and what will happen after the first or second match. I will evaluate day by day. I will make a decision based on my feelings, and the conclusion that my team and I have reached, based on observations, within four, five or six days. If I can play as close to my maximum, or at my maximum, then I will compete in this competition. Otherwise, I’ll give someone else the chance to line up. » Wait and see.
