Michoacán Athletes Shine with Two More Bronze Medals at Conade 2024 Nationals

The State Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (Cecufid) reports that the state delegation won two more bronze medals at the Conade 2024 Nationals, at the closing of the judo and swimming competitions, through the athletes Jeshua Gutiérrez Aburto and Óscar Vásquez Pedraza, respectively.

Judoka Jeshua Eduardo Gutiérrez Aburto climbed to the podium after a great display in his four fights in the first phase of the Men’s Under-15 category, -58 kilograms; Already in the semifinal, he fell with Dilan Macías from Jalisco, on the tatami that was installed in Campeche.

“I feel very happy because it is an achievement for me, it was one of my goals because of what Conade Nationals represents. It was a very good level that was present in the competition, I think I can reach a better level; I dedicate this medal to my mother, family and friends,” said Gutiérrez Aburto.

For his part, the triton Óscar Eduardo Vázquez Pedraza, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, did the same in the 200 meters backstroke test, category 19-21 years, by stopping the stopwatch at 2 minutes and 14.49 seconds, while the podium was composed of the Baja Californian Diego Camacho Salgado (2:08.89) in first place and the Yucatecan Ángel Enrique Torres Girón (2:14.41) in second position.

With these results, our entity reached 47 medals momentarily, of which, 14 are gold, 17 silver and 16 bronze. Regarding the calendar of the maximum celebration of amateur sports in our country, the activities of the handball discipline will begin in Campeche; while in Jalisco, karate and taekwondo will do it; and in Colima, it will open the curtain to welcome surfing.
