It is a bit like a newspaper, the cheat sheets – or rather: cheat letters – of Peter Vandenbempt. He therefore has to provide a lot of information about the players of the European Football Championship. “The player’s name and first name are shown in red, the shirt number at the front, the age behind it with a circle around it and the team where they play, in black.”
“I also write things down in pencil. For example, if it reads 43-0, it means that that player has played 43 international matches, but has not yet scored a single goal. At the next match I can change that 43 back to 44.”
So everything is written by hand. “Not that I wouldn’t want to use a computer, but it’s just not possible. Specialists tell me that no font is small enough and still readable.”
