Grigor Dimitrov had a short working day at the Queen’s Club

Adrian Mannarino as the opening opponent on grass is basically no picnic. Even if the 2024 season has not gone as the Frenchman would have liked so far. But Grigor Dimitrov didn’t care about that on Monday in London. The Bulgarian, seeded third at the traditional ATP Tour 500 tournament at the Queens Club, sent Mannarino off with a confident 6:1 and 6:2. The task in round two will be more challenging: He will face either Karen Khachanov or Sebastian Korda.

The tournament is already over for Holger Rune in the singles. The Dane started strongly against Jordan Thompson – but ultimately lost 6:4, 6:7 (4) and 3:6. Thompson will face either fellow countryman Alexei Popyrin or local hero Andy Murray in the round of 16.

Frances Tiafoe was unlucky. The American twisted his ankle in his match against Ring Hijikata at the beginning of the third set and had to give up.

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is the favorite at the Queens Club. The newly crowned French Open champion will have to face Francisco Cerúndolo right at the start.

Here is the single tableau in the Queens Club
