Football: victim of discomfort last week, Lille player Nabil Bentaleb is doing better

The news is reassuring. Hospitalized since Tuesday June 18 at Lille University Hospital after feeling unwell, LOSC midfielder Nabil Bentaleb is doing better, as confirmed by the northern club Monday evening via a press release.

“Nabil Bentaleb carried out several examinations and health checks which were reassuring,” we read. He is still under observation in hospital but could return home during the week. The club is delighted with this reassuring news that it is able to communicate today and will naturally continue to provide all its support in this ordeal, to Nabil and his loved ones. Losc and Nabil thank all those who provided the numerous expressions of support,” explains the club without giving further explanations on the reasons for the discomfort suffered by the Algerian international.

A LOSC player since the summer of 2023, the experienced 29-year-old midfielder joined the Mastiffs from Angers, not without having experienced some problems during the medical examination. His transfer was almost canceled due to myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle, before a new medical examination authorized him to join Lille.

“It was an anxiety-provoking period because with myocarditis, you have a risk of sudden death,” explained President Olivier Létang last August. We knew that it was something that was not prohibitive, but there was a period which we were told could last up to six months…. »

Last season, Bentaleb played 34 matches in all competitions, providing three assists.
