Fitness: Muscles against body fat – “Metabolism and behavior determine influence on weight”

A good metabolism is considered the key to success, whether you want to lose excess weight or build muscle. But what does it actually mean to be healthy from a metabolic point of view? And should people who do not suffer from diabetes also monitor their blood sugar levels on a permanent basis?

Karsten Köhler is a professor for exercise, nutrition and health at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The scientist is considered an expert on human metabolism and explains in an interview with WELT what influences our metabolism and what influence muscles have in the fight against body fat.
