Club Brugge Announces Departure of Josef Bursik: New Transfer Market Moves Expected

Training has resumed at Club Brugge, where Nicky Hayen immediately predicted new fireworks on the transfer market. In the meantime, Bruges has already announced a departure.

As announced last week, Josef Bursik will be loaned to FC Hibernian. Via official club channels, Brugge have finally confirmed that the replacement goalkeeper will be loaned to the Scottish Premier League club for one season.

Bursik quit Bruges

Bursik was recruited a year and a half ago to replace Simon Mignolet, but he suffered a serious knee injury last summer. For now, he is still waiting for his debut with the A core, where Nordin Jackers has overtaken him in the hierarchy.

After a long rehabilitation, the 23-year-old Englishman, who has already played five matches with Club NXT and who is linked to Jan Breydel until mid-2027, will therefore look elsewhere for additional minutes of play. It remains to be seen when and if he will return.

The club is looking for a goalkeeper (?)

Also curious to know if the Club will still be looking for new blood between the posts. After the departure of Senne Lammens last summer, Nick Shinton also seems to be leaving. Unless Kiany Vroman and Axl De Corte get a chance?
