Christian Lattanzio Named as STVV’s New Trainer: A Closer Look at the Canaries’ Striking Appointment

STVV has just introduced its new trainer. The Canaries have appointed the Italian Christian Lattanzio. The Truienaars provided more explanation about this striking appointment.

Lattanzio to STVV

“The 52-year-old Lattanzio previously worked with coaches such as Roberto Mancini and Fabio Capello. He started his career at Manchester City, where he was active within the academy. In the wake of Patrick Vieira, he then crossed the ocean: there he went to work for New York City. In the same growing MLS league, Christian also coached Charlotte to the play-offs,” it said.

Sporting director André Pinto provided more explanation. “We have taken a well-thought-out approach in the search for a new coach. Our supporters and players enjoyed our playing style last season. That is why we have opted for an experienced guide who can continue this line. His experience also helps us to deal with this team to make further progress in terms of aggressiveness, ball recovery and quick transition.”

Experienced coach

The new coach is also someone who wants to work with young talents. “STVV is a club that not only trains talents, but also effectively offers them the opportunity to demonstrate themselves at the highest level. We want to help develop youth products – and talented young people in general. Our new coach is clearly open to this. That is why we are pleased that we can work together.”
