Wozniacki announced this personally on her X-Channel. This will be her fourth Olympic participation in total.

The Dane receives one of two ITF wildcards for former major winners or world number one players.

It is still unclear who will receive the second wildcard: The hot candidate is Emma Raducanu (US Open winner 2021). Naomi Osaka would also be in the running, but she could also qualify via her protected ranking.

Wozniacki had ended her career at the beginning of the 2020 season, but made her comeback in the summer of 2023.

However, her appearances are still few and far between; in the current WTA rankings she is only ranked 117th.
