Belgian Badminton Player Julien Carraggi Eliminated in First Round of Indonesian Open

Julien Carraggi was eliminated in the first round of the Indonesian Badminton Open, a tournament labeled Super 1,000 and worth $1.3 million, on Wednesday in Jakarta. Carraggi, 45th player in the world, lost 21-16, 21-10 against Frenchman Christo Popov (BWF 24).

Carraggi was the only Belgian engaged in the Indonesian capital. The 24-year-old from Brussels is already guaranteed to participate in the Paris Games thanks to his Olympic ranking.
