This is the conversation between Lax Franco and the VAR referee, Moreno Aragón, to annul the goal by Dani Calvo of Oviedo: “The interference is clear and there is an offside”

A few minutes after the end of the match that Oviedo lost 2-1 in the Espanyol field, the VAR Audio of the goal disallowed for the blues due to positional offside by Alemão was published after Dani Calvo finished off a goal. The VAR referee, Moreno Aragón, calls the referee, Salvador Lax Franco, and recommends that he watch the play “due to possible interference in Oviedo’s goal, on Espanyol’s number 14 defender.”

He then tells him that he is going to “put a camera in which you can see Bryan’s ability to clear the ball under the goalposts.” Although, he adds that “first we show you the line so you can see that Alemão has his foot offside, the foot and the white boot belong to Alemão.” Moreno Arangón asks Lax Franco to assess “if Bryan could play that ball with his head under the sticks.” Lax Franco, after seeing it, says that “Alemão’s interference is evident”, but asks that they put the line where Alemão’s leg is visible again. Afterwards, he concludes: “I clearly see that Alemão’s leg is in front, we have seen that the interference is clear, therefore it is offside.”

The VAR also called the referee to annul another Masca goal for offside and signal a Colombatto penalty.
