Florida Panthers win at New York Rangers

The Florida Panthers started the NHL Conference Finals with an away win over the New York Rangers.

In the duel between the two best teams in the Eastern Conference, the Panthers won 3-0 on Monday evening. Matthew Tkachuk scored to make it 1-0, an own goal by Alexis Lafreniere sealed the victory, credited to Carter Verhaeghe. Sam Bennett finally scored into the empty net to make it 2-0.

The Rangers, for their part, missed numerous chances to score and are already under pressure ahead of the second game on Saturday night. Theoretically, the Panthers only need home wins to reach the Stanley Cup Finals.
