Benoît Cosnefroy wins the Tour du Finistère and has a string of victories

Week after week, Benoît Cosnefroy confirms that his 2024 season is a great vintage: the Decathlon – AG2R La Mondiale rider already has six bouquets since the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes in February. The puncher made perfect use of the final circuit in the streets of Quimper with its two difficulties, including the climb towards the finish (700 m at 6.2%). Well started by his team, he dominated the final sprint to win ahead of Corbin Strong (Israel Premier Tech), Rudy Molard (Groupama – FDJ) and Axel Zingle (Cofidis).

The last survivor of the breakaway, the Norwegian Idar Andersen (Uno-X), who still had a lead of more than a minute 10 kilometers from the finish, was caught just before the red flame, the moment when the Decathlon set off to launch Cosnefroy towards a second victory in a week after the Morbihan GP.

This success takes the winner of the day to the top of the Coupe de France rankings. The next stage of the competition is scheduled for Sunday, still in Finistère, with the Boucles de l’Aulne.
