Two years ago, Zverev twisted his ankle in the French Open semifinal against Nadal, tore several ligaments and was out for seven months. Before the victory, Zverev revealed about the rematch in 2024: “I’ve been waiting for this match for two years. The memories of 2022 are there.” And he continued: “I didn’t want my last memory of a match against Nadal to be being wheeled off the court in a wheelchair.”
