Carlos Manera wins the Niji40

The sailor of the Sea Jungle Carlos Manera (CN Port de la Selva) has won the Niji40, the Class40 transatlantic race, with the Snef team, also formed by Xavi Macaire and Pierre. The Franco-Spanish trio crossed the finish line this morning on the island of Marie-Galante in the Caribbean Sea, after leaving last Sunday, April 7, from the island of Belle-Île-en-Mer in Brittany and sailing for 14 days and 20 hours. In total, they have traveled 4,066 nautical miles, making an average of 11.42 km.

Carlos Manera, who five months ago finished the legendary regatta alone Minitransat in the second position, the way has been opened to professional ocean sailing. The Niji40 is the fourth transoceanic regatta that he completes at the age of 25.

“I am very happy with this victory in the first regatta in the 40 class. During the crossing, he crossed two storms in the Bay of Gascony and the Azores.
