The 23-year-old climbs to position 19 in the world rankings, the best placement of his career. This also applies to Alejandro Tabilo, who moves from 51st to 39th place.

Yannick Hanfmann was the only German participant who failed in the first round against Argentine qualifier Juan Manuel Cerundolo.
