Spanish Archery Championship for Athletes with Disabilities and National Arch and Indoor Health Trophy Kick Off at Juan Carlos Beiro Sports Center

LM The Juan Carlos Beiro sports center, in La Felguera, was abuzz yesterday. More than sixty shooters gathered to celebrate the first day of the Spanish Archery Championship for Athletes with Disabilities and the National Arch and Indoor Health Trophy. Two initiatives that came together in the same weekend.

The treasurer of the Principality’s Archery Federation, Caridad Fernández, was very happy yesterday to be able to have an event in the region attended by athletes from many parts of Spain. “People have come from Murcia, the Balearic Islands, Navarra… People are trying very hard.”

Among the athletes with disabilities there were people with vision problems to others with acquired brain disabilities, all united by the passion for a sport that brings them many benefits. The National Bow and Health Trophy was also held, in which women who have suffered from breast cancer participate and for whom archery helps in their recovery, both physically and mentally.
