Former “VEF Riga” player Aleksandrs Madsens has moved to the Andorran “MoraBanc” club of the Spanish ACB League. The club has yet to officially announce the signing of Soma, but yesterday it was announced that Markella Starks was no longer involved.
In the first half of the season, Madsen represented VEF, signing a contract with the club until the end of the FIBA Champions League. Although the parties had the opportunity to continue their cooperation, they parted ways after exiting the tournament. On average, Madsen played 27.6 minutes in the Champions League, in which he scored 11 points (the third highest score in the team), won five rebounds, gave 2.8 assists, intercepted 1.2 passes and blocked 1.2. throws. In eight games in the combined league, Madsen averaged 6.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 20:43 minutes played.
During his career, Aleksandrs Madsen also played in such teams as “Kouvot”, USK Prague and AEK Athens. MoraBanc of Andorra currently ranks 14th in the 16-team competition in the Spanish ACB league with four wins in 15 games. Breogan, who are in the relegation zone, have just as many victories.
