PS Elpidio Baseball, through its president Ezio Sagripanti, communicates with great satisfaction that two young Under12s have been called up to participate in the first training session of the new cycle of the national youth baseball team led by Mister Stefano Burato.
The two young people are Mattia Tofoni as pitcher and first baseman and Geremia Orlandi as first baseman and left fielder. Yesterday in Macerata on the pitch of the Hot Sand Serie A team, they responded to the call. Around 39 young baseball players from all over Italy, even from Sardinia, participated. Our two talented athletes behaved well and clearly distinguished themselves, so much so that it is assumed that in March they may be called up again for the final training sessions which will allow them to participate in the international summer tournaments and the European under-12 championship. Also last year three other young people from PSE Baseball were called up and two participated in the European championship where our national team finished third. Therefore, the excellent work of the youth team led for years by Mirco Cannella continues. The cycle just concluded featured our team which won the Marche championship, the Italian Cup and all the tournaments, reaching the semi-finals of the Italian championship. From this year, over 15 kids will join the two national teams in trying to win the championship which will start in March. Anyone wishing to try practicing this difficult and complex sport is always welcome. The Club is very satisfied as it will invite all the teams, families and fans to the end-of-year dinner on 2 December.
