Inter first in the Champions League group if…the combinations

Winning in Lisbon against Benfica would certainly have made things easier for Inter, but the objective of first place in the group is still within reach of Inzaghi’s team. After the mix of results between Lisbon and San Sebastian where two draws came out, albeit very different in terms of scores, the Nerazzurri now only have to beat the Spaniards in the last round to qualify first and thus avoid the most dangerous teams to the round of 16. In fact, both Inter and Real Sociedad are tied on 11 points in the standings but the Spaniards boast a better goal difference: for this reason, in the event of a draw, the situation would remain unchanged and the Nerazzurri would finish in second place.
