Sorel-Tracy, May 8, 2023. – The representative of Rebelles Badminton from Cégep de Sorel-Tracy, Alexis Hogue, once again had a season this year that matched his talent.

Playing in the Centre-du-Québec section of the division 1 collegiate badminton league, Alexis finished his season in first position in men’s singles in division 1, the strongest on the circuit.

This great performance allowed him to participate in the regional league championship held at Cégep de Sherbrooke where he won second position in the tournament in men’s singles.

This ranking gave him access to the Division 1 provincial collegiate badminton championship which took place in Sept-Îles where the best collegiate rackets in Quebec met this year.

Alexis finished in second place in his preliminary round, being defeated only by the eventual tournament gold medalist. His performance then gave him the right to participate in the elimination round of the competition.

The Rebels’ color bearer made it to the quarter-finals and ended his journey with an honorable, hard-fought defeat against the eventual silver medalist of the tournament.

Alexis Hogue therefore ends his season among the 8 best collegiate men’s singles players in Quebec and according to his coaches, Daniel Valois and Martin Jacob, he is probably in 5th position in Quebec currently.

With one more collegiate season under his belt with the Rebelles Badminton, Alexis Hogue will surely be one to watch next year, as he should get even closer to the top of Quebec collegiate badminton.

Polypus badminton regular season juvenile champion from Fernand-Lefebvre high school, Gabrielle Bouley, will join him next season. They should form a formidable mixed doubles which will also be one to watch.
