Although he has returned to training since Sunday, Antoine Dupont has to make do with lighter sessions and finds the time to be long.
A simple cockade under the eye: Antoine Dupont has hardly any scars from his maxillo-zygomatic fracture against Namibia and the operation which followed and during which the French captain was placed two titanium plates. The Toulouse scrum-half nevertheless remains unavailable for the last group match against Italy on Friday, and uncertain for the quarter-final clash.
Although he made his big return to training on Sunday, Antoine Dupont is content with lighter sessions for the time being, spending most of his time in the gym. The native of Lannemezan also published photos of his day’s session on Instagram, showing his impatience. « Wait lifting », he wrote in the caption of the photo showing him in the middle of a weight training session. A message tinged with humor since it is a play on words with « Weight lifting » (lift weight) and which reflects his impatience.
The impatience was already perceptible this Sunday according to his teammates. “This morning (Sunday morning), he was complaining on the bus because he was running by himself and not with us (laughs). From the moment he moans, that means he’s fine. We hope to see him again by our side soon” had told Pierre Bourgarit.
