Retirement of Long-Time Volunteer Marks New Direction for Annual Festival in Verquin

A few days ago, we met Joële Delahaye who had decided after 18 years of volunteering for Poireaux Folies to retire from the organization. It is the municipality which takes over with the objective of “ a popular and cultural festival », specifies Marc Desramaut, responsible for communications.

On the program this year, among the new features, activities for children, a local market, artisanal products, a tasting of local products and a medieval camp with knight fights, a blacksmith, craftsmen and archery and a medieval meal open to all by reservation.

“A vegetable transclasses”

Sébastien Renard will be present to chair a culinary competition with probably leeks… “ A cross-class vegetable, easy to prepare or sometimes used in complicated recipes, explains Mayor Thierry Tassez, it can be found on the large tables at Versailles or in a worker’s garden ».

On a musical level, it will be a concert by the municipal harmony, Anita and Kamel for a special 80s and an open stage. The Verquin troop “ Corypheus » will give a dance performance.
