Qinwen Zheng had just triumphed at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, but there was still no joy afterwards. Instead, she was upset with her coach Wim Fissette – because he was returning to a competitor.
“I understand his decision, but my family and I feel hurt. At the moment, I don’t want to talk about this person,” Zheng explained. She described the process as “very immoral” – Fissette had broken the contract between the two.
Naomi Osaka wants to return to the Australian Open
The reason for excitement is Fissette’s return to Naomi Osaka, with whom the tennis coach won the US Open in 2020 and the Australian Open a year later. The 43-year-old has also worked successfully with other tennis greats such as Kim Clijsters, Sabine Lisicki and Simona Halep. With successful coach Fissette, Osaka now wants to master the return to the Australian Open 2024 after her pregnancy.
