Since last Friday, the IX European Police and Firefighters Championship has been held in Torrevieja, Alicante. A competition that brings together both sports modalities and specific police and firefighter performance tests.
The Tui Local Police had a representative in the modalities of Judo and Jiujitsu (with Gi and without Gi). On Saturday, Lino Martínez from Tuden won Gold and was proclaimed European Champion by winning the final against the German representative with whom he had lost the gold medal on another occasion. This time Lino had a very technical fight winning for Ippon.
The Tudense also participated in Jiujitsu, where they combined several categories and Lino competed with people 8 years older than him, but he managed to finish on the podium in both categories, achieving two hard-fought bronzes. On Sunday morning he competed with Gi (with kimono) and in the afternoon without Gi (grappling).
Lino joins this Gold to that of the Portuguese National Championship and will continue training to attend the Spanish National Championship in Pamplona on December 3.
