The state concludes a year of great achievements that will be recognized by the State Government through the Jalisco Code Within the framework of the celebration of the Mexican Revolution, with this intention, the calls for the State Sports Award, Jalisco Award for Sports Merit and Hall of Fame generation 2023 were announced.
Athletes and coaches from conventional and adapted sports participate in the shortlist and will be designated by a jury that will evaluate the performance.
How was the jury formed?
Representing the sports associations: Marcos Mena (badminton) and Socorro Martínez (fencing); media: Mónica Morales, Ignacio Luna and Gustavo Cárdenas; on behalf of the Mexican Association of Professional Soccer Players: Carlos Alberto Mendoza; as well as Germán Pérez from the Tequileros team, and Héctor Antonio Oroz, president of the Tapatias and Tapatíos volleyball Club, as those designated by the Code authorities.
Regarding the recognition and designation procedure, Fernando Ortega, General Director of the Jalisco Code, expressed:
“We are facing a great challenge. We have had a large number of athletes with national and international results during this cycle, and it will be a difficult task for the jury, but I fully trust their maturity and ability. We will also seek to unite all this with a great celebration at the end of the year together with the Bicentennial Award that, within the celebration of the 200 years of Jalisco as a Free and Sovereign State, we are promoting the recognition of a winner from each of the municipalities, as well “We will have a great party at the end of 2023.”
Call for the State Sports Award
The State Sports Award opens a call for athletes, coaches and promotion, protection or promotion of the practice of sports will be awarded with 110 thousand pesos which, in the event of a tie, will be distributed equally.
Awards for first places in the Jalisco Sports Merit Award
Meanwhile, in the Jalisco Award for Sports Merit, 100 thousand pesos will be awarded for first place, 40 thousand for second and 20 thousand for third place for athletes; and 100 thousand pesos to the coach in both conventional and adapted sports, in the latter, the period of results to be analyzed is from 2013 to the current 2023.
Jaliscienses will join the Hall of Fame 2023
For its part, the Hall of Fame in its 2023 generation will include the most outstanding Jalisco in the category of coach, athlete, referee or judge, sports leader and sports promoter.
It will be on October 23 when the jury meets to determine the list of winners who will be recognized on the day of the Mexican Revolution, while the Hall of Fame will determine dates later.
