Ahn Se-young Advances to Round of 16 in Women’s Singles at 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games

Ahn Se-young (Samsung Life Insurance), who won the badminton team gold medal and is aiming for the singles gold medal, has reached the round of 16 in the singles.



Ahn Se-young defeated Puichiwa (Macau) with a set score of 2-0 (21-9 21-5) and joined the round of 16 in the ‘2022 Hangzhou Asian Games Badminton Women’s Singles Round of 32’ held at Binjiang Gymnasium in Hangzhou, China on the 3rd.



For world No. 1 Ahn Se-young, the match against world No. 334 Puichi was easy. Ahn Se-young finished the first set quickly in about 12 minutes and won the second set by giving up only 5 points.

Se-young Ahn will meet the winner of the world’s 205th ranked Abdul Razak Fatimas Navaha (Maldives) and the world’s 518th ranked Yegane Kermani (Iran) in the round of 16.
