The preseason of the Caballeros Águilas de Mexicali resumes in the city of Tucson, after obtaining good results in the first stage of the “Mexican Baseball Fiesta”, which was held in Mesa, Arizona.
A total of 36 players have begun their training prior to the scheduled commitments for Águilas de Mexicali, which will take place from Wednesday, October 4 to Sunday, October 8 in the cities of Nogales and Tucson.
Among the standouts are infielders Reynaldo Rodríguez, Alex Mejía and Kennys Vargas, as well as catchers Xorge Carrillo and Alejandro Flores. Additionally, infielder Troy Stokes Jr. and pitcher Patrick Weigel join.
After carrying out physical recovery work after their confrontations against Obregón and Guasave, the “Emplumados” players worked effectively at the Kino Complex Center facilities.
TRAINING SESSION
The session was led by coach Julio César Miranda, who led the pitchers in infield plays, both with runners on base and in routine situations.
Regarding the offense, batting practice was carried out under the direction of coaches Iker Franco and Francisco Morales, who worked with each of the Cachanilla team’s hitters to perfect their technique.
After the activities on the field, the players concluded their work in the gym.
The Águilas de Mexicali will continue their preparation in a session scheduled for Tuesday, October 3, in which the incorporation of more members of the border team is expected.
TIE AGAINST COTTON GROWERS
The Águilas de Mexicali tied with the Algodoneros de Guasave in an exciting match, with a score of 7 runs per team.
The feathered attack began in the first inning with a three-run rally. Anthony Giansanti hit an RBI single that allowed Moisés Gutiérrez to score the first run. The party continued with Kennys Vargas, who hit a spectacular two-run homer through the middle of the field, taking the score to 3-0.
Guasave tied in the first chapter, thanks to a three-run home run by Orlando Piña, which tied the score at 3-3.
In the final part, Club Águilas remained ahead on the partial score, however, Guasave achieved the tie in the seventh and final inning, thanks to Keven Lamas’ solo home run, tying the score at 7-7 at the end of the game.
