Women’s football in Navarra continues its dizzying rise, with the projection of exceeding 3,000 licenses in the 2023-2024 season, as reported by the Navarra Football Federation after its first meeting. A milestone that will break the historical mark of last year when 2,000 licenses were exceeded for the first time, reaching a total of 2,314.

Since 2016, a date that coincides with the rise of Rafa del Amo to the presidency of the Navarra Football Federation, women’s football licenses have increased sixfold, marking exceptional growth in the sport. In the next season, the increase in the number of clubs and teams is notable, with an increase of 11 clubs, from 57 to 68, and an increase of 42 teams, from 139 to 181. This most significant increase is observed in the grassroots football categories, where the categories ranging from Alevín-Benjamín to Juvenil-Cadete de campo experience notable growth.

During the meeting, various aspects were discussed, including the relationship with the clubs, projects in the sports area and projects in the health area.
