The Giraffes start at a handicap as they struggle to get fuel and close the first quarter at 13 to 21, a negative partial of 8 points which will affect the entire match for the Castelnovesi.
In the second quarter, closed at 14-14, a few too many errors from underneath and a heightened defensive intensity on both sides brought the game to halftime at 35 to 27.
In the second half, led by an excellent Attura, named MVP of the match, the Giraffes fell within two (63 to 61) with 140 seconds to go, when a triple by Penz practically put the seal on an exciting contest.
So coach Cutugno: «We played another interesting match from a physical and technical-tactical point of view. We are still under construction but we are putting a two-day plan in our backpack with many positive ideas and some details on which to continue to grow».
The next appointment for the Giraffes, the last pre-season test, next Saturday in Bologna against Matelica.
