Emilia Romagna –
Marc Marquez It is widely reported that he has decided to move to Gresini in 2024. Manager of Repsol Honda Alberto Puig said Marquez never asked to leave.
Marquez’s patience with Honda is very thin following the difficulties he has experienced in the last few seasons. As a result, the six-time premier class world champion has been linked with leaving at the end of the season.
However, so far Marquez has tried to reduce speculation about his future. Marquez has always said that he is still under contract with Honda until the end of next season, but has never mentioned plans to complete it.
Ahead of the 2023 San Marino MotoGP, speculation about Marc Marquez’s future is getting louder. Top European media claimed that Marquez would part ways with Honda and then cross over to Gresini to team up with his younger brother, Alex Marquez.
However, Puig believes Marquez will not go anywhere. “I can only give you the information I know. As you said, he has a contract until 2024,” said the 56-year-old Honda boss to MotoGP.com.
“He never came to us, saying he wouldn’t stay with us. I can only say that we will finish the contract we have.”
“This is all I can say to you because I didn’t hear any communication from the rider or his manager,” said Alberto Puig bluntly responding to rumors of Marc Marquez’s move to Gresini.
