Many attended the final farewell of the late esteemed businessman and former councilor for commerce and tourism Roberto Pernaselci. The funeral took place this morning at 10am at the central church in Corso Don Minzoni a Genzano, precisely during the preparation of the Bread Festival and the Bread Infiorata so loved by the people of Genzano and by Pernaselci himself who always did his utmost for the city’s cultural initiatives. The mayor Carlo Zoccolotti, the former mayor and current municipal councilor Flavio Gabbarini, other current and past councilors and municipal administrators, many shopkeepers from Genzano, friends, relatives, many fellow citizens and the volunteers of the Proloco, of which he had been part for many years, have took part in the religious celebration. The many present brought condolences to his wife Ida, his daughter Arianna, his sister and brother-in-law Gianfranco Silvestri, deputy commander of the Local Police.
Roberto Pernaselci67 years old, died on Thursday evening at 9.30pm due to an inexorable and terrible illness, which he had endured with great dignity and positivity for some years, at his home in via Filippo Pizzicannella in the heart of his beloved Genzano, equipped with the comfort of his loved ones.
“A great character from Genzano, innovative, always proactive, in commerce and in the political, cultural and social life of the town he loved so much. He was a great friend – commented the former mayor Flavio Gabbarini – He came here as a child, with his parents and sister, from Monte San Giovanni Campano, the Ciociaria town where he was born, but after over 60 years he had now become Genzano by adoption. His shops in Genzano had made history in the field of technological innovation, with televisions and household appliances first and then with gift items and Thun dolls later. He left an indelible mark, with his seriousness, his commitment, his authoritative and prepared manner, even when he was a councilor with my council between 2012 and 2014. Appreciated by everyone in Genzano, throughout the province and in other Italian towns with which we organized food and wine, cultural and commercial initiatives and twinnings. He brought about great and important changes with latest technology and generation innovations, creating many initiatives for the good of the municipal apparatus and for the entire productive and commercial fabric of Genzano” concludes Flavio Gabbarini.
At the end of the funeral, the Martinelli agency hearse transported the coffin to the Genzano cemetery where it will be buried.
