Take a deep breath at the Towers. Hamburg’s basketball players were lucky to avoid embarrassment in the first round of the BBL Cup and won against second division Dresden Titans 88:85 (53:39).
The first decision before the game: the team once again chose Seth Hinrichs (30/USA) as their captain. European Championship hero Jonas Wohlfarth-Bottermann (33) is the equal second captain.
The second decision was made by coach Benka Barloschky (35): Of all people, the development player Terrell Gomez (25/USA), who was announced as “Floor General”, had to go into the stands as the seventh foreigner!

The best Hamburg points collector in the surprise fifth of the last ProA season was center Aleksander Dziewa (25) with 19 points. The Polish international: “I think we had a lot of problems with defensive rebounding. But the biggest problem was our switching to defense. Dresden was able to score points far too easily.
