A total of 197 children and young people have enjoyed this summer the programs organized by the Globalcaja HXXII Foundation inside and outside Spain to help families in the difficult task of making work life compatible with the holidays of the little ones while at the same time helping young people to acquire new knowledge and skills of entrepreneurship, innovation, environmental awareness and knowledge of the English language.
To do this, the foundation offers them a stimulating and fun summer in which to enjoy two initiatives with very different profiles: Start Up English, the language immersion program and acquisition of entrepreneurial and digital skills in Ireland, and Xplorers Camp, the camp held in Toledo for the younger ones.
In the first one, boys between the ages of 12 and 17 have learned first-hand about Irish culture during their three-week stays in different parts of the country, staying with native families. There they have had the opportunity to improve their knowledge of the English language, participate in workshops for the development of the entrepreneurial spirit and digital skills, as well as others to get to know the culture, excursions to different locations in the country, sports and group activities, accompanied by bilingual monitors.
For the seventh year, Start Up English relies on the extensive experience of Hatton Events and H4 for the development of the program, in addition to the collaboration of relevant companies such as Asisa, Lenovo and Campofrío, which have provided health coverage; the tablets that are delivered to the teams that have worked best during the program; and traditional products of our gastronomy for the celebration of Spanish Day in Ireland.
Xplorers Camp, the program that the foundation develops with Adventrix for children from 4 to 14 years old, has concluded its seventh edition fulfilling the same objective with which it was born: to respond to the need for family reconciliation during children’s summer vacations through a innovative learning offer in which the leisure of the little ones is very carefully taken care of.
The innovation in this edition is the awareness of the need to care for the planet as the axis of the workshops. At the same time, the objective has been maintained that they are formed almost without realizing it because all the activities have a very playful approach. Thus, batukadas have been carried out, computer programming through games, and a reinforcement in which to learn mathematics almost without realizing it, in addition to activities programmed according to age: children’s area for the little ones, with a ball park, inflatables and American track; multi-adventure for those over 9 years old, so that they can practice in the climbing wall and the Tibetan bridges; Pool with water inflatables, giant inflatable, wipeout, soft paintball, giant zip line, go-karts, pirate mini golf, trampolines, and archery gallery. Xplorers Camp takes place in magnificent facilities in a privileged location from the point of view of nature and has the collaboration of Algorithmics and Kumon, as well as the participation of Music Nature Camp.
