Encouraging European Championships for the French team, played from September 4 to 9, in Sheffield, England.
With sixteen medals, including two titles (5 silver, 9 bronze), the Tricolores, despite the absence of gold and individual Paralympic quotas, maintained the good momentum born from the Tokyo Paralympic Games. The Blues are moving forward with confidence towards those of Paris 2024 (August 28 – September 8).
After the world championships, which were held in Granada in November 2022, these European championships constituted a new important step in view of the Paralympic deadline. With a group of 19 table tennis players, the French team advanced across the Channel with a dynamic combining youth and experience. This collective momentum allowed the Bleus Handisport to glean medals in a large part of the tables, and handicap classes, in which they were entered. Less than a year before the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the French disabled table tennis team will be able to capitalize on this European experience and thus rely on this reinforced base to tackle the next international tournaments. Starting with the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines International Open, from November 9 to 12, 2023.
