Frank McCourt’s turn to bang his fist on the table. The owner of OM speaks in a press release published this Thursday to call for “profound change […] to give the club a real chance to develop unimpeded in the long term.” The American adds that he “firmly supports Pablo Longoria”, the president of the club who was pushed out by supporter groups and who himself placed himself in the background.
“Supporting the Management Board, staff and players of OM, who are the guarantors of the continued success of our club, is and will remain my top priority. This support implies the guarantee of their security and a healthy atmosphere, conducive to victory,” he adds a few hours before the trip to the Ajax Amsterdam pitch (9 p.m.), opening the phase of Europa League groups.
A call for change and unity
The owner of the Olympian club, Frank McCourt then believes “that a profound change is necessary to give the club a real chance to develop without hindrance in the long term”. A pious wish followed by a call for unity, “inside and outside OM”, and this, “starting with the very important match this evening in Amsterdam”.
