According to information from WELT, there was an exchange between Hainer and Kahn during the summer break: the contract, which actually ran until December 31, 2024, was terminated. Kahn, whose salary as CEO at Bayern was estimated at around four million euros per year and who would have been entitled to around six million euros, is to receive a severance payment of around four to five million euros.

Kahn’s starting salary is said to have been just under one million euros, but was then significantly improved as a member of the board. FC Bayern shows the expenses for the entire board in its balance sheet. According to the annual report, the total remuneration of the Management Board for the 2021/22 financial year amounted to EUR 10.29 million.

Hainer confirmed the talks in an interview with WELT: “I was in contact with Oliver several times after the end of the season, we reached a harmonious agreement on the termination of his contract. It was all amicable.”

In this respect, it was important to us to regulate everything fairly together. He will always be part of the FC Bayern family.”

After his departure, Kahn was initially upset, writing to the team on Twitter: “I would like to celebrate with you, but unfortunately I cannot be with you today because the club has forbidden me.” He later explained: ” When everything has cooled down, we will sit down and talk about everything in peace.” That has now happened.

It is said in the industry that Kahn could imagine returning to the football business. Not in the front row, but possibly as an investor in a club, as a partner. Kahn himself did not want to comment on his plans.
