Report: Ulreich should become Bayern’s number one
According to a “Bild” report, those responsible at FC Bayern Munich want to start the new season with Sven Ulreich as number one in the goal of the record champions. A corresponding decision had been made. The search for a replacement for the still injured national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer had previously been difficult, according to “Bild” a replacement for Ulreich should first be sought.
It was only on Wednesday morning that the Sky TV station reported that Munich had intensified their efforts to get Stefan Ortega from Manchester City. Coach Thomas Tuchel is said to have personally phoned the substitute goalkeeper of Champions League winners Manchester City. However, the former Arminia Bielefeld goalkeeper only moved to Manchester last summer. His contract on the island is valid until 2025. “We want him, I’m sorry, but we want him. We don’t want to sell him or lend him. We need him here,” said city coach Pep Guardiola.
After Neuer’s postponed comeback plans and the departures of Yann Sommer, Alexander Nübel and Johannes Schenk, Bayern currently only have one experienced and fit goalkeeper in their squad in Ulreich.
Best young player in Europe? Bavaria’s Musiala nominated
It didn’t work out last year, but now Jamal Musiala can hope again. FC Bayern’s young star has again been nominated for the “Golden Boy” award. This gives him the chance to win the prize for the best international young player under the age of 21. The award is given by the Italian sports newspaper “Tuttosport”.
In addition to Musiala, his club colleague Mathys Tel is also among the nominees. So far the list is still 100 players, but the number will be reduced monthly until mid-October.

Guardiola rejects Moreno’s move to Bayern
Keeper Stefan Ortega Moreno will probably not leave Manchester City for Bayern. After several media reports that FCB had their eye on the former Bundesliga goalkeeper in order to react to Manuel Neuer’s further injury-related absences, Pep Guardiola now intervened.
“We don’t want to sell or rent it. I’m sorry, but we want it for a long time. It always depends on three parties, but we would have to go back to the market in two weeks to find a replacement,” said City’s coach on Tuesday.
Ex-Bayer remains calm before a duel with Kane
Werder Bremen’s captain Marco Friedl is relaxed about the Bundesliga opener against FC Bayern and their new top star Harry Kane. The 100 million euro transfer from Tottenham Hotspur is “one of the best strikers in the world. Of course we are all happy that such a player is playing in the Bundesliga.” But: “There was one or the other striker in my career that you had to defend,” said the 25-year-old Austrian on Tuesday in a media round in Bremen. Friedl was trained at Bayern from 2008 to 2018.
