Giannis Antetokounmpoplayer of the Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA, has gone through the operating room to undergo a knee “procedure” and could miss the World Cup.
Shams Charania, Joe Vardon and Eric Nehm post that the Greek star reportedly underwent arthroscopic surgery to “clean” his knee two weeks ago.
Antetokounmpo had routine surgery on his left knee. Everything went as planned and let’s hope he’s back and ready for preseason.

Adrian Griffin, the new coach of the Bucks, confirmed during the NBA Summer Leagues that “Antetokounmpo had a routine surgery on his left knee that went very well. Everything went as planned and we hope he returns and is ready for the preseason” .
Over the past four seasons, Antetokounmpo has suffered knee, ankle and back injuries.
In the United States it is being considered that Giannis Antetokounmpo presumably will not arrive in time to play against Greece the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, to be held in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia from August 25 to September 10.
So far the Greek team has not made any kind of communication about Antetokounmpo’s operation and his possible loss in the World Cup.
Last season Antetokounmpo, a two-time NBA MVP, averaged 31.1 points, 11.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists with the Bucks.
