Inside of category of -90 kilos, which brought together 20 athletes from different countries, Aixel defeated Luigi Barbero, from Italy, with the highest score (Ippon) in the first round. In the quarterfinals, Aixel emerged victorious with the representative of Türkiye. Already in the semifinals, our judoka from the Canary Islands fell against Georgiano Saba, but was finally able to manage the bronze final after beating Kuka Blin, the athlete representing Kosovo.
The athlete from Gran Canaria returns home after spending a week in Slovenia, he will spend a few days recovering and next Friday, August 6, he will have an appointment with the national team to prepare for the World Cup at the Training Camp in Valencia. Aixel is currently ranked number 16 in the world ranking, the Spanish Judo Federation and D. The next appointment of the young judoka will be the Croatia 2023 Cadet World Championship from August 23 to 27 of this year.
