Transfer coup to Harder! “A great day for FC Bayern”

transfer coup! “Big day for Bavaria”

DFB squad fixed! Trouble with Bavaria

FC Bayern is getting down to business: Pernille Harder is back in the Bundesliga. The world star moves to the German champions – but she does not come alone.

FC Bayern Munich sign Pernille Harder and Magdalena Eriksson. This was announced by the German champions on Thursday morning. Both come from Chelsea and have each signed a three-year contract.

For Harder, twice named Europe’s Footballer of the Year, it’s a return to the Bundesliga. The Danish striker played for VfL Wolfsburg from 2017 to 2020 and scored 105 times in 114 games there. In 2020 she was the first non-German to be voted footballer of the year in Germany. Defender Eriksson – Harder’s partner – has played for the Londoners since 2017.

“A great day for FC Bayern”

“Today is a big day for FC Bayern because we managed to bring two players of this quality to FC Bayern, who are outstanding personalities not only on the pitch but also off it,” explained department head Bianca Rech. She enthused : “Both players bring a lot of expertise with them. You have played at a very high level and collected titles for many years. Especially in this young team, which is currently developing very well, they will be an important building block.”

Harder himself explained: “FC Bayern is a great club, the players and the team have a lot of potential. I really wanted to be a part of it. I also got a good impression of Alexander Straus. I had a good time in the Bundesliga and I’m happy to be back after three years.” She can’t wait to play in Germany again.

Eriksson raves about “huge potential”

Eriksson had a good feeling from the start, she explained. “The potential is just huge and everything I’ve heard about the club and Munich has been nothing but positive. One reason I wanted to come here is that I’ve never heard so many good things about ex-club players.” All of her Swedish national team-mates enjoyed their time in Munich.

Bayern coach Straus is looking forward to “two top players with a lot of experience.” The players are “an ideal addition to our team and bring even more quality to our talented squad. You will take us to the next level. We are very happy about it.”
