The Danish mixed doubles Mads Vestergaard/Christine Busch and the Danish men’s doubles Rasmus Kjær/Frederik Søgaard have all played in the final at the VICTOR DENMARK MASTERS.

Eight Danish players/pairs were ready in the wings at the VICTOR DENMARK MASTERS when Saturday started with the quarter-finals. After just four hours of intense three-setters, superior victories and a few individual surprises, eight Danish players/pairs became four semi-finalists.

Four later became two and the audience at the Royal Stage in Hillerød can therefore look forward to Danish participation in both the mixed doubles final and the men’s doubles final.

Mads Vestergaard and Christine Busch started the semi-finals by beating their English opponents in a close three-setter. The match looked set to be a superior two-setter, but at 20-18 in the second set, the English pressed on, and then Vestergaard and Busch had to fight on in the third set. Here, the two Danes got off to a good start and gained momentum during the stay. After 51 minutes of combined play, Vestergaard and Busch could look forward to tomorrow’s finals.

Unfortunately, it did not result in a semi-final place for the third-seeded mixed doubles Jesper Toft and Clara Graversen, who met the first-seeded Indians. The Danish mixed doubles fought to the end, but had to be beaten in two sets: 18-21, 20-22. Subsequently, the Danish men’s singles Mads Christophersen took to the court and after two sets the match was closed, unfortunately not in the Dane’s favour.

In return, Rasmus Kjær and Frederik Søgaard put their Taiwanese opponents in their place in two quick sets. Kjær and Søgaard had momentum from the start and did not face many challenges during today’s semi-final. In the second set, the Danish men’s doubles went to a break at 11-4 and could then close the match with the numbers: 21-17, 21-11.

On Sunday, the finals start at 10 o’clock, and you can still come and help support the Danish finalists. Tickets will be sold at the door and children under 15 are free.
