Ruhr Games 2023 in Duisburg: program, schedule and concert

Bouldering, freestyle motocross, water polo and more – for four days, the Ruhr Games in Duisburg will present young international athletes.

Bouldering, water polo, football, freestyle motocross, table tennis and more – all of these sports can be seen at the Ruhr Games in NRW. From the June 8-11 the sports and culture festival takes place in the Duisburg North Landscape Park instead of. For four days, top-class international youth sports and urban art will be presented there.

Ruhr Games in Duisburg: opening show and concerts

With a kick-off show on June 8th at 6 p.m., the Ruhr Games officially opened. They will play Giant Rooksthe indie rock heroes Leoniden and Stina Holmquist. In the evening there will be a drone show.

Participation in the concerts is for free, as well as the entire Ruhr Games. The organizers recommend arriving early.

Sports at the RuhrGames 2023: Freestyle Motocross and Judo

Many different sports are presented at the Ruhr Games, including freestyle motocross, judo, archery and bouldering. On June 11th there will be an urban dance battle that you can watch.

There are also Workshops, where you can try sports yourself or get creative: graffiti, parkour, skateboard, calisthenics basics workshops are offered. Also, visitors can watch a live graffiti show, digital artworks and a rap battle.

Getting to the Ruhr Games

The organizers recommend traveling to the Ruhr Games by bus, train, bike or on foot. The stop for arrival by public transport is called “Landschaftspark Nord”.

Additional time should be planned for arrival by car. At the weekend, the A59 will be closed from Thursday (8 June) at 8 p.m. to Monday (12 June) at 5 a.m. between the Duisburg motorway junction and the Duisburg-Meiderich junction in the direction of Dinslaken. Autobahn GmbH is renovating the road there.
