After taking over the interim following the resignation of Noël Le Graët, Philippe Diallo was officially elected president of the FFF.
FOOTBALL – The interim is over, he is now a president with all the legitimacy. Successor to Noël Le Graët as President of the French Football Federation, Philippe Diallo was officially elected to this position during the FFF General Assembly which took place this Saturday, June 10.
The former deputy vice-president must now complete the mandate of the president who resigned in February. This ends in theory in December 2024.
Under the eyes of Noël Le Graët, Philippe Diallo obtained 91.26% of the votes during the election in which elected officials and leaders of French football participated. He was the only candidate in the running and had obtained the anointing of the executive committee, a sort of government of the FFF, a few moments earlier. “By voting massively for me, you are doing me a great honor. It is also a great responsibility that I measure because we have experienced a number of difficulties in recent months.said the president from the podium after the vote.
An explicit reference to the cases which undermined the end of the mandate of the Breton leader. Between his slippages and his contested managerial management of the FFF, in particular regarding the fight against sexual violence, Noël Le Graët left a powerful federation but in full turmoil.
In addition to the mission of bringing serenity back to 3F, Philippe Diallo had to manage the crisis in women’s football. His first decision was to thank coach Corinne Deacon and replace her at the head of the France team with Hervé Renard. All in the home stretch of preparation for the World Cup.
