A great year, the first with so much participation and desire to do, the 22/23 Badminton season comes to an end with a huge party! Yes, it’s a celebration both for life, for the field, for the brotherhood and for their self-esteem!
The function of sport as a fundamental factor for the growth and enrichment of the individual, for improving the quality of life and for empowering and strengthening oneself. This tournament was also an opportunity to highlight how motor practice helps to fuel self-confidence. And I’m glad I saw that.
First of all, thanks go to both the sponsors who have confirmed their membership: CANTIERE NAVALE ESPOSITO and the ALCHIMIA bar. What can I say… emotions and the heart can also be seen from here, with small but significant gestures. But let’s get back to the party. The athletes, victorious from the first away match in Palermo, come from a long internal tournament where an alternation of smiles, tears, inner growth, hugs, rods and strong stimuli that led to the first 4 finalists. And in the order of classification, Belvisi Giuseppe, Lo Presti Giuseppe, Spata Amedeo and Belvisi Giulia; they played the semifinals and finals on the final day of the tournament! Sweat, effort, competition, fair play, determination have made the sport in its entirety and in the end the order of arrival in the classification has been confirmed. Belvisi G. and Lo Presti G. raise their first cups! It’s party! Parents to embrace them, comrades and friends to applaud them!
For the occasion, Girolamo, the FIBa Regional Delegate Dioguardi, and Arianna, the Badminton Club instructor from Palermo, witnessed the progress of the team, the great novelty of a BadmintonDance ballet (which has already been greatly appreciated also by Rome ), the determination and personality of this growing team. The former mayor V.Campo was present from the beginning to the end, as in these 5 years just past, thanks to him and his administration which allowed the sporting activities to take place, honoring us until the end and having fun with us. We hope that the new municipal administration will continue the commitment and work previously done for sport and for “l’Herone dei Venti”!
And by the way, I now believe that the shuttlecock, a kind of badminton ball weighing 4.5 g, can really fly to the windy island!
