Municipality pays tribute to the U-23 football team of Club Football Estrela – SAD

The City Council of Amadora honored the football team of Club Football Estrela – SAD, on the occasion of winning the U-23 National Championship – Liga Revelação, season 2022/2023, in a ceremony held at Recreios da Amadora on May 3.

The amateur team was crowned champion in the debut season in this competition, which is organized by the Portuguese Football Federation, and which aims to ensure a competitive space for youngsters who came out of juniors, but who are not yet prepared to integrate or play, regularly, in the main team.

Addressing the 34 players in the champion squad, the members of the technical structure, the management and administration of the club, the President of the Amadora City Council, Carla Tavares, highlighted the merit of this team, as well as the pride and joy for this conquest, considering it an “important moment for the city”.
Paulo Lopo, President of Club Football Estrela – SAD stated that “it is an honor and a privilege to represent the city of Amadora well”. “Everything we do for our city is important”, he concluded.
