The Baseball Québec association for Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean saw its staff of referees increase during the last year of activities.
In fact, the number of referees in the regional territory has practically doubled, according to information shared with Radio-Canada.
The reasons that led to this increase would be the word of mouth that was done about the refereeing, as well as communication strategies that would have been successful in renewing the workforce.
Also, Baseball Québec’s partners, such as municipalities, are part of the organization’s success.
During 2022, the number of referees in the region was estimated at 43 according to the association’s estimates, while now there are 85 who are currently registered.
