If we talk about living legends in Major League Baseball, at least in the 2023 season, there is no greater name than Miguel Cabrera. The Venezuelan is the active player with the best chances of entering the Cooperstown Hall of Fame.
And every legend must be treated as such, several MLB teams know that, including the Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Brewers and now the Philadelphia Phillies.
After that, in Canada, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Víctor Martínez relegated him a plaque with images of his 500th home run, which was precisely at the Toronto Blue Jays stadium.
The next to join Miguel Cabrera’s party was the Baltimore team, “El tigre mayor” received the brick from Camden Yards with a message that is difficult to forget: “Thank you for an inspiring career”.
And the last to join were Los Cerveceros who «…they say goodbye to Miguel Cabrera and his great career with a check for $5,000.00 USD for the Miggy Foundation. . . oh and of course, they made him an honorary “Cheesehead” »This is how MLB Venezuela published on Twitter.
Miguel Cabrera received a new tribute in Philadelphia
Citizens Bank Park hosted the Detroit Tigers for the fourth time today in a series of four games and they took the opportunity to pay homage in a curious way, like all of them, to the Venezuelan legend.
The Phillies honored future Tigers Hall of Famer Miguel Cabrera before tonight’s game. There they gave him part of the right field blackboard with dedications from his players.
At the ceremony was Ryan Howard (Phillies legend), Nick Castellanos and Gregory Soto (former teammates in Detroit), José Alvarado (Venezuelan compatriot) and obviously Dave Dombrowski (Draft in Miami and achieved his transfer to Detroit) could not be missing.
Thank you for so much Miggy!
Congratulations on an incredible career, Miguel! pic.twitter.com/SgdVQxB3NQ
