Even at the age of 32, Riyad Mahrez still plays at the top level – if he is allowed to. In the FA Cup final against Manchester United (2-1), coach Pep Guardiola left him on the bench for over 90 minutes, as he has done in some important Champions League games.
That obviously doesn’t suit the winger at all. As the daily newspaper ‘Echorouk’ from Mahrez’ Algerian homeland reports, the left foot is so worn out that the Champions League final against Inter Milan on Saturday (9 p.m.) could be his last game in a Manchester City shirt.
‘Echorouk’ also delivers a potential new club: FC Bayern. His coach Thomas Tuchel is said to have submitted his wish for Mahrez to the club management and even declared him number one on his list.
